As a Self-Healing into Wholeness

The message of Mind/Body Therapies is that human beings are whole and complete as we are.  We just think we are not.  When the Soul is the center of the mind-body, and we are creating from that center, then we are experiencing the Self:  We are aligned with our core reality and our central purpose.  When we are off center, i.e. focused on something outside ourselves as a source of fulfillment, an empty feeling is created, which our projected, commotional ego tries to fill.  The actions that are created from this displaced center are like waves, or commotion, that come back to us.  We call these commotions “behavioral health issues”.  These issues have thoughts, feelings, actions and reactions that show up as compulsions, addictions, depression and other dysfunctions.  Through awareness of our thoughts, feelings and actions we can realize when we are “off-balance”, and can choose a practice to re-establish our equilibrium.

YOGA CLASSES:  The goal of yoga practice is to awaken awareness, to transform mental and emotional blocks to allowing for and to help heal the physical body, by moving energy.  Classes are both vigorous and calming, leaving a participant centered and rejuvenated.  Sessions combine breathing, movement, postures, deep relaxation, as well as meditations for mental clarity and control.

LIVING MEDITATIONS:  Participants learn and experience tools to relax anxiety, slow and clear chaotic thinking, and be present to themselves in this moment, rather than judging the present and worrying about the past and future.  You have the opportunity to experience the distinctions between “being” and “doing.”  Concentration and meditation exercises are short and active, teaching participants the art of stillness in the chaos of thinking.  I teach Mindfulness and sound techniques, including chanting, Gong Meditation and Crystal Singing Bowls.
